Shanghai gets ready for end-of-holiday traffic peak

( chinadaily.com.cn ) 2015-02-16

The Shanghai Urban Transportation Administrative Department is taking special measures to ease up expected traffic peak in the end of the Spring Festival. To this end, it will launch 30 new bus routes to make it easier for people returning from holiday.

An extra busy time is expected as millions of passengers will start to make their way back to the city starting from Feb 22 (the fourth day of the Lunar New Year), and the department is to launch 30 bus routes and services to carry passengers from airports, railway stations and bus terminals back and forth.

Among the newly added services, line 29 will run from the East Hongqiao Transport Terminal to Jiading Bus Terminal (last bus at midnight); and line 4 to stretch out from South Square of Shanghai Railway Station to Nanhui Bus Station in Jiading district.
