Baiyin is rich in mineral resources. Many kinds of mineral ore are found with large reserves, wide distributions and huge potential value. They took a very important position in Gansu province.

About 14 kinds of non-metallic minerals, such as limestone, quartz, pyrite, associated sulfur, fireclay, gypsum, mirabilite and palygorskite are found or detected in the area.

Among these reserves, palygorskite reserves rank first in the country and ceramic soil ranks first in the province.
