Colorful shadow play

Audiences in Guangzhou will be treated to a shadow play, one of Chinese historic folk arts, on Sept 14.

Be amazed by how puppeteers control the puppets on threads and bamboo sticks, as they present difficult stunts and vivid peacock dances.

While shadow plays are traditionally black and white, the performer, Hunan province's Puppet and Shadow Art Protection and Inheritance Center, is known for staging colorful shadow plays with new techniques.

Fans of shadow plays will also be surprised by the center's rearrangement of classics such as Three Mice and Fox and Crow.
