Chinese, French FMs hold talks on ties

BEIJING - Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius on Friday, vowing to further bilateral relations.

Being strategic, epochal and innovative, Sino-French relations have set their own banners over time, Wang said, noting that China attaches great importance to the bilateral ties.

With broad common interests between both sides, relations with China is a priority of France's foreign relations, Fabius stressed.

The two ministers agreed to take the opportunity of French president Francois Hollande's upcoming visit to China to improve tangible cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, aerospace, nuclear energy, urbanization, environmental protection, education, culture and so on.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.

Invited by Wang, Fabius is visiting China from April 12 to 13.
