A high-level official has been removed from the Communist Party of China, after he allegedly accepted bribes, according to a report on Tuesday's Nanfang Daily.

Lu Yingming, former deputy director of the land and resources department in Guangdong province, was investigated by the discipline watchdog in November 2012, for discipline violations, the report said.

Investigations found that he made use of his position to gain illegal profits for others and take substantial bribes.

The provincial Party committee has transferred him to judicial organs.
