Between May 3, 1946, and November 12, 1948, the Far East International Military Tribunal put Hideki Tojo and other Class A Japanese war criminals to trial, and sentenced seven of them to death. In June 1946, Ma Xulun and another eight people made up a team to represent the people of Shanghai to make petitions peacefully to the Kuomintang government in Nanjing. When they arrived in Xiaguan of Nanjing, they were beaten up by the KMT mob, resulting in the Xiaguan Atrocity. This picture shows that Zhou Enlai went to the hospital to visit the injured Ma Xulun.
