KIEV - Senior Chinese and Ukrainian press administrators agreed on Monday to advance press cooperation between their two countries.

Alexander Kurdinovych, head of Ukraine's State Committee for Radio and Television, told Cai Fuchao, visiting Chinese minister of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, that cooperation between the states should be promoted to a high level.

The two sides signed a press cooperation agreement.

"It is very important for us to deliver more information about Ukraine to Chinese people, as well as familiarize Ukrainians with life in China. Thus, our agreement laid down a mechanism for cooperation and exchange programs," Kurdinovych said.

Cai said China hopes to share television and radio content with Ukraine and to have cultural exchanges. Cai noted that, through media programs, Chinese and Ukrainian people will understand each other better.
