Pink Ribbon's history in China:

Estee Lauder debuted its Pink Ribbon Campaign in China on October 13, 2003, when a pleasure-boat with the pink ribbon symbol floated down the Huangpu River in Shanghai.

In 2003, Estee Lauder helped establish the country's first breast cancer education base in Shanghai, in cooperation with the World Health Organization's Shanghai Healthcare Education Center.

In 2003, Evelyn Lauder, vice president of Estee Lauder Company, sponsored a charity photo exhibition in Beijing, selling 50 of her photographs and donating the proceeds to the Shanghai Breast Cancer Education Center.

In 2005, Estee Lauder sponsored a public service film, Caring for Your Breasts, that featured Chinese breast cancer patients and was broadcast in China's major cities.

In 2006, Estee Lauder debuted the Global Illumination Initiative, or Pink Lights program, when it bathed Shanghi's Nanpu Bridge in pink lights.

In 2007, Estee Lauder cooperated with the Department of Disease Control in Shanghai to sponsor the "Preventing Breast Cancer and Caring for Women" program. The company also helped provide free breast checks to all women teachers in Beijing. The same year Global Illumination Initiative lit Beijing's China Millennium Monument in pink

In 2008 Estee Lauder cooperated with the Department of Disease Control in Shanghai to establish a demonstration center for breast checks. It also sponsored a public service movie about breast cancer awareness, check ups and treatment that was broadcast in about 80 cities throughout China.
