In her welcome address, Leah Ying Wang, the vice-president of Hualon Technology and the vice-president (China) at ChinaEU, a European think tank, said AI is reshaping production models and communication ecosystems. With China having introduced guidelines to accelerate the development of new quality productive forces, computing power has become foundational infrastructure for the intelligent era, with demand rising sharply in the media and audiovisual sector.

While AI can greatly improve content production efficiency, she stressed that human judgment remains central to values, aesthetics and the human touch in storytelling.

"Competition in the AI industry is no longer about individual large models alone. It is a systemic contest spanning computing power, algorithms, data, application scenarios and industrial ecosystems. Technology delivers real value only when applied in actual industrial settings," Wang said.

Hualon Technology has built a full-stack computing system covering chips, complete machines and computing platforms, the company said. For the media and audiovisual sector, its solutions support AI-generated content creation and post-production, intelligent indexing and retrieval of media assets, and multilingual translation with global distribution.

Wang noted that adapting domestic computing power to media workflows requires joint testing with content institutions, so that the technology can be refined within real creative processes.

She called for cross-industry collaboration to advance computing deployment in practical scenarios and to develop industry standards together, helping build a digital China.
