China's cruise ship Adora Flora City announces Hong Kong as its homeport
China's second domestically made cruise ship Adora Flora City announced voyages to take Hong Kong as its homeport in 2027, an effort to deepen its deployment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, according to its operator Adora Cruises Ltd on Friday.
The cruise ship plans to operate nearly 20 cruise trips next year from Hong Kong, offering guests in the Greater Bay Area four-night and five-night trips to international destinations, including Vietnam and South Korea, as well as longer tours to Northeast and Southeast Asia.
In addition, three destination-free cruise trips will also be launched, said Adora Cruises.
The year 2027 marks the 30th anniversary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's return to the motherland.
As an international tourism and shipping hub, Hong Kong serves as an important nexus for Adora Cruises to strengthen its presence in the Greater Bay Area and connect to international markets.
Going forward, more efforts will be made to expand its capacity in Hong Kong, facilitating the city's development into an international cruise hub in Asia, said the Chinese cruise brand.
Measuring 341 meters in length, the 141,900-gross-tonnage ship has 2,130 cabins and can accommodate up to 5,232 guests. In comparison with Adora Magic City, the nation's first domestically built cruise ship, Adora Flora City has undergone comprehensive upgrades in spatial design, intelligent technology, and cruise experience.
Its inaugural voyage from Guangzhou in Guangdong province is scheduled to launch on November 22. A special New Year's Eve overnight cruise trip in Hong Kong will be launched on December 30, allowing guests to welcome the first rays of 2027 amid the dazzling lights of Victoria Harbour.
Adora Cruises currently operates Adora Magic City, Adora Mediterranea, and Piano Land, and its routes cover East China, South China, North China and Hong Kong.
