Macao rider wins electric class at MotoSurf World Championship

Macao rider Ng Chio Hong won the electric challenge category at the 2026 UIM MotoSurf World Championship in Marbella, Spain, on Sept 13, becoming the first rider from the Macao Special Administrative Region, China, to claim the title at the world championship.

Riding a Moovi F Series electric race board, Ng finished the race by 6 minutes 32 seconds. His teammate Leong Lat Hang, also riding a Moovi board, finished second by 6 minutes 41 seconds.

Michal Uhlar of Slovakia, riding a Jetsurf, placed third. Former Electric class champion Michal Skocek returned to competition and took part in earlier heats but did not compete in the final.

The Marbella round, which followed the season opener in Stockholm, Sweden, tested riders and equipment across different water conditions and course layouts. Ng and Leong used Moovi's F Series boards throughout the heats and final.

The result marked Moovi's first world championship victory and highlights the growing presence of electric propulsion in competitive watersports.

Moovi, based in China, develops electric motorized surfboards for recreational and competitive use. Its F Series race boards are developed with German engineering and manufactured in China.
