Niu Yunwei, professor at the Perfume and Aroma Technology program of Shanghai Institute of Technology, observed that functional fragrance represents a major future trend. Scent‑related research will advance from sensory perception to cellular and neurological dimensions, enabling wider applications in health management and material innovation.
Meanwhile, the group's Nose Idea: The Reconstruction of Scent olfactory art annual exhibition kicked off at Zhangyuan in Shanghai on Tuesday and will run until Oct 12. The exhibition explores the cultural and public value of scent through artistic presentations.
