"Consumers now judge purchases by 'value for money' rather than price tags. People are not just buying scents; they are investing in themselves," Li Xiaojie, senior research director of Kantar Innovation & Customer Experience Domain, said.

As a key growth and innovation hub for the global fragrance sector, China sees rising demand for multi‑scent and personalised fragrance experiences, continuously pushing industry boundaries outward, Li noted.

During the conference, the group signed a strategic cooperation deal with Shanghai Institute of Technology to establish the Aromatic Materials Innovation Research Center. The partnership will investigate scientific links between aroma, physical and mental well‑being, and emotion regulation, offering technical support for functional fragrance research and development.
