Xi hails historic leap in China-Kyrgyzstan ties
BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping on Friday hailed the historic leap in China-Kyrgyzstan ties from a good-neighborly friendship to a strategic partnership and then to a comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era.
Xi made the remarks in a signed article published in Kyrgyz media outlets ahead of his state visit to the Central Asian country.
In the article, Xi urged China and Kyrgyzstan to consolidate good-neighborly friendship, stay committed to mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, carry forward their traditional friendship and uphold multilateralism.
Calling on China and Kyrgyzstan to elevate practical cooperation in both quality and scope with high-quality Belt and Road cooperation as the main focus, he urged the two countries to work together to create a new chapter of high-quality development in bilateral relations.
Xi also called on China and Kyrgyzstan to firmly oppose hegemonism, unilateralism and bloc confrontation.
