International visitors buoy Xiamen cruise passenger volume
A cruise tour in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, saw its international tourist visits grow by 150 percent year-on-year from January to June.
According to Shen Jiajun, general manager of the cruise's operating company, foreign visitors enjoy taking the trip because they can enjoy Xiamen's landmark buildings alongside onboard puppet shows and other performances.
Shen said the route accommodates nearly 1 million visitors annually on average. In the first half of 2026, its overall passenger traffic volume increased by 15 percent year-on-year.
To better serve international tourists, upgrades have been made to payment, language, and signage services, he said.
The 90- to 120-minute trip features views of Gulangyu Island and the Jinmen islands, with a light show at the downtown Heping Wharf.
