PLA's guidance team lands in Xizang to help the rescue efforts

The guidance team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Western Theater Command arrived at a high-altitude airport in the Xizang autonomous region aboard a Y-20 transport aircraft at around 10:30 am on Thursday to join rescue efforts following a mudslide that struck Gyirong county in Shigatse on Wednesday.
The guidance team then immediately traveled to the disaster site to strengthen command of the rescue operation.
The Y-20 carrying the team took off on Thursday morning. The team will organize a joint rescue operation involving PLA personnel in Gyirong county.
