Elite rescue team deployed to Xizang following devastating mudslide

The mudslide occurred at around 10:30 am Wednesday on the Nepalese side of the border, causing major casualties and missing persons at Gyirong port in Gyirong county, Shigatse.
As of 8 am Thursday, two people had been rescued, three were confirmed dead, and the number of missing had been updated to 558, including 260 foreign nationals. The figures are still being verified, according to local authorities.
