Quannan, Jiangxi hosts Asian climbing contest

The event is the first continental-level climbing competition to be hosted by Quannan.

"This is my hometown, so I hope I can play my part in its development," Zhong said.

"I also hope the competition will allow more people around the world to learn about Quannan and discover its scenery and food."

The event is hosted by World Climbing Asia and organized by the Mountaineering Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau and the Ganzhou municipal government.

Quannan previously hosted the 29th Chinese National Climbing Championships in 2023, which also served as a trial event for Chinese climbers ahead of the Paris Olympic Games.
