Shanghai to host major pharma industry exhibit
A Shanghai exhibition will demonstrate that China's pharmaceutical industry has been transformed from a follower to a core center of global innovative drug research and development, offering a mature, reliable solution for the world, according to the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Medicines and Health Products.
Asia's largest pharmaceutical event, CPHI China 2026, a specialized exhibition on pharmaceutical ingredients, together with PMEC China 2026, a major pharmaceutical machinery event, will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (Pudong) between June 16 and June 18.
The expos will cover an area of 250,000 square meters and 36 exhibition halls. More than 3,700 enterprises and 110,000 professional buyers from home and abroad have been invited to the event.
Participants will include international pharmaceutical firms Alivus Life Sciences, Delta Finochem, Evonik Industries and Indus Biotech, and domestic drugmakers such as Qilu Pharmaceutical and North China Pharmaceutical Co.
The full pharmaceutical industrial chain, including pharmaceutical raw materials, natural products, pharmaceutical excipients, biotechnology, pharmaceutical machinery and packaging equipment, biotechnology, laboratory instruments and equipment, will be covered.
In 2025, China's import and export volume of medicines and health products totaled $201.7 billion, up 1.18 percent year-on-year, data from the chamber showed.
