The race was run under the latest competition rules approved by the Chinese Cycling Association, with standardized refereeing, security, and logistical support to guarantee a fair and safe event, local authorities said.

The 33.5-kilometer loop started and finished at the lake's marathon square and wound past landmarks including Cherry Blossom Island, the Jizhou Ancient City Ruins Park, and Lyuli Ancient Town.

With the route laid out along the ecological resources of Hengshui Lake, riders enjoyed sweeping views of the wetlands while pushing their limits.
