Chinese and United States defense chiefs exchanged views on bilateral military ties and issues of mutual concern during US President Donald Trump's visit to China in mid-May, a Chinese defense spokesman said on Thursday.
Jiang Bin, a spokesman for the Defense Ministry, made the remarks at a regular news conference in Beijing, confirming the engagement between Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun and US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth this month.
Regarding future exchanges between the Chinese and US militaries, the two sides will make good use of dialogue and communication channels at all levels and jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, he said.
