Expressways boost spring tourism as rapeseed flowers bloom in Longnan
Seas of blooming rapeseed flowers are drawing growing numbers of visitors to Longnan, Gansu province, as the region enters its peak spring tourism season, with transport authorities stepping up support to ensure smooth access.
In Jiaogong, Wudu district, vast stretches of golden blossoms have reached full bloom, creating a striking landscape of highways and nature. As traffic volumes rise during the ongoing Spring in Wudu season, the Longnan Expressway Management Company has optimized traffic organization and on-site management to keep vehicles moving efficiently.
Targeted measures have been introduced for safety and convenience. According to the company, it is implementing temporary service channels and portable toll collection devices, while stepping up inspections across key road sections. Free parking areas and transport-tourism service desks at toll stations offer route guidance and basic assistance for travelers.
Staff members also serve as on-site guides, providing directions to rapeseed flower viewing spots and recommendations on nearby attractions, dining, and accommodation.
"Using flowers as a bridge, destinations are enriching spring tourism offerings to meet diverse needs, from short getaways to family trips," said a staff member with the festival and promotion division of the Gansu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
