Students from Tianshu Academy of Beijing Information Science and Technology University kicked off their winter break with a skiing session at the venue of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics on Monday.
The academy, based in Zhangjiakou, Hebei province, offers a specialized skiing curriculum that provides students with the opportunity to practice during weekends and holidays. The first cohort of 500 students was admitted in September 2025.
As part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development initiative, the academy has also established three industry research institutes focused on advanced manufacturing, new energy, and the data economy, according to the academy.
