As World AIDS Day approaches, a groundbreaking initiative was unveiled in Beijing with the launch of the "HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis Map" app, designed to enhance HIV prevention efforts nationwide.

This innovative tool, introduced during the "2025 Youth Anti-AIDS Public Welfare Action Launch and HIV Prevention Story Sharing Session," integrates national post-exposure service points with smart location and educational resources, providing timely and precise guidance for those at risk of HIV exposure.

The post-exposure prophylaxis is a critical medical intervention aimed at preventing HIV infection after a possible exposure. It involves taking antiretroviral medicines within 72 hours of potential exposure to the virus, such as through unprotected sex, needle sharing, or occupational exposure, according to experts.

The event, organized by the Chinese Association of STD and AIDS Prevention and Control with support from Gilead Sciences, highlighted real-life stories of HIV prevention under the theme "Proactive Choices, Control Your Life." It marked the beginning of a nationwide campus tour aimed at promoting scientific education on HIV prevention across universities and middle schools.

Through a "HIV Prevention Story Collection" campaign, the event featured powerful narratives from healthcare professionals, volunteers, and people living with HIV, emphasizing the transformative power of proactive health choices. The stories underscored the importance of collective societal support in combating HIV, as echoed by experts and public figures who participated in the event.
