Firefighting drills to lift passenger safety

Chinese railway operators are conducting firefighting drills to ensure rail transport safety. In response to the country's 34th Fire Safety Promotion Month this November, Taiyuan North Station in Shanxi province held a fire emergency evacuation drill, aiming to inculcate and put into practice the goal of "Life First, and Fire Prevention for All". As a freight hub for multiple trunk lines, the station handles a significant amount of personnel, equipment and cargo traffic every day, thereby shouldering heavy fire-safety responsibilities.

Yuan strengthens against greenback

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 28 pips to 7.0847 against the US dollar on Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
