Xinjiang senior political adviser investigated for serious Party violations

Jin Zhizhen, a senior political adviser in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, is under investigation for suspected serious violations of Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Saturday.

The investigation was disclosed online by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were released.

Publicly available information shows that Jin, 55, a native of Jiangsu province, joined the Party in June 1991 and started his career in August that year.

After graduating in 1991 from Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in Liaoning province, he worked in Xinjiang in various industries, including chemistry and new energy.

In January 2023, he became the vice-chairman of the regional committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
