Stage truss collapse in Sichuan kills 2, injures 3

Two people were killed and three more were seriously injured in a beer festival stage truss collapse accident on Friday night in Mianzhu city of Sichuan province, local emergency management authorities said.

The accident occurred at around 9:50 pm when a temporary stage truss at a beer festival collapsed amid strong convective weather, resulting in multiple injuries, according to a statement released by Mianzhu's emergency management bureau on Saturday.

Following the incident, relevant authorities immediately mobilized emergency response teams to carry out rescue operations. Two people died despite full-scale rescue efforts, while the three injured people are currently in stable condition, according to the statement.

Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
