The last of the 14 people trapped due to a mountain collapse in Baiyun district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, was discovered around noon on Friday, according to local emergency management authorities.
The last missing person was found after intensified search and rescue efforts for over 48 hours following the disaster, which occurred at about 8:30 am on Wednesday in Dayuan village.
Continuous heavy rainfall across most parts of Guangdong between Saturday and Wednesday caused the mountain collapse, the authorities said.
