The foreign affairs office of the Shanghai municipal government has announced the upcoming launch of the Italian-language website for International Services Shanghai, a comprehensive platform offering a wealth of information on doing business, working, traveling, studying, shopping, and living in Shanghai.

This expansion is part of the platform's ongoing efforts to cater to a diverse range of international audiences. The Italian website (https://italian.shanghai.gov.cn) will be accompanied by the platform's official accounts on WeChat Video, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn.

Initially launched in January 2024, International Services Shanghai is now available in 10 languages, namely English, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, and the latest addition of Italian. The platform aims to provide tailored information to meet the needs of various linguistic and cultural backgrounds, ensuring a seamless experience for users seeking to navigate the complexities of living and working in Shanghai.

The Italian-language website will be specifically designed to align with the linguistic habits and cultural preferences of Italian-speaking users. It will focus on addressing the diverse needs of Italian residents and travelers in Shanghai, covering essential areas such as government services, lifestyle insights, and cultural exchange opportunities, according to the city's foreign affairs office.

In addition to the Italian website launch on May 1, International Services Shanghai will debut on popular social media platforms WeChat Video, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn at the same time. These platforms will feature a range of short videos catering to the practical needs of foreign nationals in Shanghai. Content will include service guides, personal narratives, and cultural highlights, with a focus on themes such as investment opportunities, daily services, and cultural tourism.

By providing informative and engaging content, the platform aims to support foreign nationals in their transition to Shanghai, integration into the local community, and overall positive experience in the city, said the municipal foreign affairs office.

The LinkedIn account, targeting international business professionals and industry experts, will deliver precise content such as investment environment reports, foreign entrepreneurial stories, international event information, and analyses of foreign economic policies. This strategic approach aims to enhance Shanghai's visibility in global business networks, attracting foreign enterprises and high-end talents seeking growth opportunities in the city.

Since its inception, International Services Shanghai has garnered significant traction across its platforms, including WeChat, Facebook, and X. As of the end of April, the platform has published over 20,000 pieces of information, accumulating more than 84.96 million views, according to statistics provided by the municipal foreign affairs office.
