Liaoning fire: On-site rescue work ends
The on-site rescue work following a restaurant fire in Liaoyang, Liaoning province, on Tuesday has concluded, with a total of 22 deaths and three injuries, according to Liaoning Daily.
The blaze broke out at Tuesday noon, and 22 fire trucks with 85 firefighters were deployed. They swiftly extinguished the flames, conducted rescue operations, and evacuated nearby residents promptly, it said.
Experts were sent to assist in treating the injured. As of Tuesday evening, the injured individuals are in stable condition and follow-up work is still ongoing, it added.
Besides, the provincial leadership has urged prompt investigation. Hao Peng, secretary of the CPC Liaoning Provincial Committee, urged to spare no effort in treating the injured, and comfort the families of the victims, promptly investigate the cause of the accident, and hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law and regulations.
