Construction site accident leaves 6 dead in Shandong

A construction accident occurred at around 3 pm on Tuesday in Jinxiang county, Shandong province during the dismantling of an umbrella-shaped truss which killed six people and left one sustaining severe injuries, with another currently trapped and undergoing rescue efforts, the county's housing and urban-rural development bureau said on Tuesday.
The project, which is owned by China Grain Reserves Group, was undertaken by the Second Construction Co Ltd of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation Seventh Division.
Investigations into the cause of the accident and ongoing efforts for recovery and remediation are currently underway.
