Bus accident on Shenyang's Shenhai Expressway injures 2
Two people were injured in a bus accident on the Shenhai Expressway in Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning province, on Friday.
At 11:14 am on Friday, a bus overturned on the northbound lane of the Shenhai Expressway due to a mechanical failure, according to a statement from Shenyang's traffic police department.
The two victims sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Both are reported to be in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries. Several others received minor scrapes.
Emergency responders, including police, fire rescue and medical teams, promptly arrived to assist in the rescue efforts.
According to a report on The Beijing News website, the passengers on the bus were students from Liaoning Normal University who were on an internship trip.
Authorities have ruled out alcohol and drug impairment of the driver. Traffic has since returned to normal, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
