Toxic gas claims six lives in Qinghai village

A gas poisoning incident left six dead and one ill from two households at an oil mill and a health club at Yinqiao village in Golmud, Qinghai province, on Tuesday, reported CCTV News.
The Golmud government said on Saturday that toxic gases escaped through the residents' sewage pipes, leading to the casualties. The six died despite full rescue efforts, while one person has since recovered after receiving medical treatment.
Local authorities launched rescue and response efforts in accordance with the law and regulations. They swiftly relocated and accommodated nearby residents and began a comprehensive investigation into the causes of the event, it said.
