Former vice-minister of education under review
Du Yubo, former vice-minister of education, is undergoing disciplinary review and supervisory investigation, the country's top anti-graft watchdogs announced on Wednesday.
The Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, the nation's top anti-graft watchdogs, said in a statement that Du is suspected of seriously violating Party disciplines and national laws.
Born in 1955 in Hebei province, Du began working in 1974 and joined the Party in 1975.
He once worked in Beijing Institute of Technology for over 20 years, and served as the executive deputy Party chief of the university from 2001 to 2002. After that, he became the Party chief of Beihang University until 2010. He served as vice minister of education from 2010 to 2016.
Du also served as the deputy director of the education, science, culture and health committee of the 13th National People's Congress from 2018 to 2023.
