Shanghai airports resume normal operations after typhoon moves away

Operations at Shanghai's two airports resumed on Monday afternoon after the center of Typhoon Bebinca moved away from Shanghai, according to the Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd.

The first flights of the day arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport at 13:43 and 14:11, respectively, and departure of flights from the two airports resumed at 15:00, marking the recovery of traffic at the city's two airports.

More than 40 percent of the two airports' capacity was affected on Monday, according to a notice published by the Shanghai Airport (Group) on Sunday night. The cancellation involved a total of 918 flights, 590 at Pudong and 328 at Hongqiao airport.
