Liling hosts prestigious 2024 porcelain expo
The 2024 Hunan (Liling) International Porcelain Industry Expo will be held in Liling, Hunan province from September 29 to October 3, according to local government officials.
Jiang Xianghui, vice-mayor of Zhuzhou, which administers Liling, said more than 300 enterprises and exhibitors from 13 countries and 10 provincial regions in China will attend the expo.
Yang Jian, deputy general secretary of CPC Liling Municipal Committee, said the city has more than 2,000 years of making porcelain and is one of the three porcelain capitals in China together with Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province and Dehua, Fujian province.
Liling porcelain is sold to more than 150 countries and regions, with the everyday porcelain product accounting for 10 percent of the global market and electric porcelain accounting for one-third of the global market, Yang said at a news conference held in Changsha on Friday.
The expo has been held six times, attracting over 2 million visitors and reaching contract deals of more than 18 billion yuan ($2.5 billion), he said.
This year's expo will continue to use innovative ways, such as a porcelain theatre show and porcelain experience tour, to attract visitors. More than 500,000 people are expected to visit the expo, and over 1 million people to tour the city, he added.
The expo anticipates signing deals worth more than 4 billion yuan this year, he said.
