Suspects detained for Guangxi Detian Waterfall tragedy

Individuals responsible for a recent incident that resulted in one fatality and 60 injuries at the Guangxi Detian Waterfall have been placed in police custody, according to local authorities on Tuesday night.
The incident occurred at 1:56 pm Saturday on the Magic Carpet Project, an escalator for tourists visiting the Detian Waterfall managed by China Travel Guangxi Detian Waterfall Tourism Development.
The joint investigation team unveiled preliminary findings that the steel buckle joint connecting the carpet belt near the top exit point of the magic carpet broke, causing the belt to descend rapidly. This led to individuals being crushed and struck.
