Senior legislator of Hainan under probe

BEIJING -- Liu Xingtai, deputy secretary of the Leading Party Members Group of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Hainan Province, is under disciplinary and supervisory investigation, according to an official statement on Wednesday.

Liu is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision for suspected serious violations of disciplines and laws.
