The latest episode of a micro-documentary series shot and produced in Dalian, Liaoning province, was released on Sunday to coincide with the Start of Summer, or Lixia, the seventh term of the 24 solar terms. The episode's subject is the black-faced spoonbill, which is under national first-class protection in China.
According to the producer, Dalian News Media Group, the micro-documentary series - "Seasons Through Birds' Eyes" - presents viewers with a unique perspective by capturing the essence of each solar term through the lens of migratory birds. Each episode corresponds to a specific solar term and features a different migratory bird species.
