The 3rd Yangtze River Delta International Emergency Disaster Reduction and Rescue Expo is scheduled to take place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from May 13 to 15, as announced during a press conference on April 9.

Approximately 500 businesses are expected to participate in the exhibition, with 32 of them being Fortune Global 500 or National 500 companies, and 17 being foreign-invested enterprises. Organizers anticipate that over 100,000 visitors from more than 30 countries and regions will attend the expo. The event is being jointly organized by the emergency management departments of Shanghai municipality, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces. The four regions have collaborated to establish an integrated management mechanism for emergency management in the Yangtze River Delta.

This year's expo aims to encompass the entire industrial chain, showcasing new technologies and products. Notably, the expo will feature the debut of cutting-edge technologies such as electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts, commonly known as "air taxis," alongside existing drones, forming a comprehensive three-dimensional drone application system, as highlighted by Zhou Minhao, chairman of the Shanghai International Trade Promotion Committee. Additionally, advanced technologies including geological disaster monitoring and early warning systems will also make their inaugural appearance, Zhou added.

Furthermore, an information-sharing agreement between Shanghai and the three provinces will be signed at the upcoming expo, according to Ma Jianhong, head of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management.

The expo will serve as a platform for research institutes, industrial parks and safety production emergency organizations to foster collaboration on disaster reduction and rescue efforts.
