Senior officials plant trees to build beautiful China

A total of 137 ministerial-level officials from bodies directly under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as those from various departments of the central government and Beijing, participated in a voluntary tree planting activity at the third phase of the Olympic Forest Park in Changping district, Beijing, on Sunday.
Under the theme "Fulfilling the obligation of tree planting, building a beautiful China together", the officials planted more than 1,200 seedlings of Chinese pine, scholar tree, white wax, and other types of trees.
After the tree planting, the officials proceeded to the nurturing site, where they pruned, fertilized trees, hung tree tags, and set up pest control traps, while meticulously learning about the characteristics of the trees and carrying out detailed operations.
The officials' voluntary tree planting activity has been held for more than 20 years since 2002, with more than 3,700 officials having participated and a total of nearly 43,000 trees planted.
