Nursing home fire leaves 3 dead, 10 injured

Three people were killed and 10 injured when a fire broke out on the early morning of Thursday at a nursing home in Dongguan of Guangdong province, according to the emergency management bureau of the city.

The incident happened in the Kangyi Nursing Home, an 11-story building. The blaze broke out in Room 303 on the third floor at 4:21 am and was extinguished by 4:48 am. The burned area covered 20 square meters.

One of the injured was in critical condition while the other nine were slightly hurt, with their vital signs stable.

The cause of the incident was under investigation.
