STRATEGIC COOPERATION
Hospitality companies Marriott International and Delonix Group, which is headquartered in China, have announced a long-term cooperation agreement under which the two companies will work together to grow Marriott's Tribute Portfolio brand on the Chinese mainland. The Delonix portfolio currently includes 10 hotel brands with more than 1,400 hotels open or in the development pipeline. The parties anticipate that at least 100 properties could become part of the Tribute Portfolio over the coming years.
GRAND OPENINGS
Accor announced the opening of two strategic destinations for Grand Mercure — one of Accor's premium global hospitality brands — in China in late December. Grand Mercure Yichang Waitan is in Yichang, Hubei province, along the banks of the Yangtze River while the Grand Mercure Chengdu East is the brand's first hotel to open in Southwest China. The latter is the brand's first hotel in the world to introduce an extended stay offering, known as Grand Mercure Living.

HIGH-SPEED TRAIN
A high-speed train named after renewable energy solutions supplier Sungrow Power Supply was launched at Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station last week. The Sungrow high-speed train services will extensively cover the Yangtze River Delta and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. With 27 years in the renewable energy industry, the company focuses on such areas as solar energy, energy storage, electric vehicle charging, and renewable hydrogen production systems. Covering more than 150 countries and regions, its products have been applied to automobile manufacturing, building materials production, chemicals and transportation, among others.
