One-China principle is a growing consensus among the global community: spokesman
Adhering to the one-China principle is where global opinion trends, the Chinese mainland's Taiwan affairs authority said on Monday, after Nauru's announcement of severing the "diplomatic relations" with the Taiwan authorities and intending to establish diplomatic ties with China.
Chen Binhua, a spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, praised the country that it has made the correct decision in conforming to the overall trend.
He said there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China's sacred territory, which is a historical and legal fact as well as a consensus of the international community.
He added that the facts have repeatedly proven that adhering to the one-China principle is the common aspiration and the rising norm.
