After the snowfall in Beijing on Monday, a netizen captured a touching scene on the campus of the University of Science and Technology Beijing: Professor Ge Changchun, 89, braving the cold to ride to the laboratory, reported Beijing Daily.
Ge is a famous expert in nuclear materials, powder metallurgy and advanced ceramics. He has played a crucial role in the development of separation membrane technology of enriched Uranium-235, a key material for atomic and hydrogen bombs, thus contributing to the Two Bombs and One Satellite project launched in the 1950s.
Born in March 1934, Ge is still actively engaged in research on nuclear materials and other new energy materials. He is hailed as "the hardworking man" in the scientific community.
