Xi calls for turning maritime issues into opportunities of China-Vietnam cooperation

HANOI -- Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, said Tuesday that China and Vietnam should turn challenges posed by maritime issues into opportunities of bilateral cooperation.
The two sides should actively discuss and carry out more maritime cooperation projects and strive to promote joint maritime development, Xi said.
Xi made the appeal during a meeting with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong.
