The book series Path of Leadership: Xi Jinping's Inspiring Journey of Regional Development has been awarded the WIPO-NCAC Copyright Awards 2022 during the 9th China International Copyright Expo and 2023 International Copyright Forum held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, which ends on Saturday.

The award list was unveiled on Thursday, with the book series about the president given the WIPO-NCAC Creativity Award, together with the book series A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings, TV Drama The Lifelong Journey, Cinematographic Works The Battle at Lake Changjin, and Computer Software ZW3D and Choreographic Works A Timeless Scroll: Unfading Green.

Established by the National Copyright Administration and the World Intellectual Property Organization, the WIPO-NCAC Copyright Awards is the highest award in the field of copyright in China and consists of the WIPO-NCAC Creativity Award, WIPO-NCAC Award for Copyright Utilization, for Copyright Protection and for Copyright Administration/Management.

The 9th China International Copyright Expo and 2023 International Copyright Forum is the largest international copyright event held in China since 2022, Zhang Jianchun, vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said during the event's opening ceremony on Thursday.

The expo is the only international and national-level copyright professional exhibition in China's copyright field.

Since its establishment in 2008, the biennial event has been held eight times in Beijing, Chengdu, Guangzhou in Guangdong province, Suzhou in Jiangsu province, and Hangzhou in Zhejiang province.

It is an important platform for showcasing copyrighted works, promoting copyright trading, copyright value transformation, and copyright exchange between China and foreign countries.

The expo features offline and online exhibitions.

The offline exhibition area reached 52,000 square meters, with four exhibition halls and five exhibition areas, including the National Copyright Administration and international organization exhibition areas as well as the provincial exhibition area.

With attendees including Sylvie Forbin, WIPO deputy director general, and officials from copyright authorities in countries like Cambodia and Japan, the copyright forum with the theme "The Role of Copyright and Creative Industry in the Creative Economy: New Visions and Opportunities" has two subforums — on Sino-Africa Copyright Cooperation and on Copyright Empowering Cultural Inheritance and Development.
