American professor documents what he has learned while teaching in China
Gary Lee Todd, 74, a professor of history from the United States chose to return to work at Sias University in Zhengzhou city, Henan province last year, where he had previously taught history from 2005 to 2020, saying that the cultural experience was his major reason to come back.
In those years, he mainly taught American, and sometimes British, history to Chinese students and taught Chinese history to international students.
His footprints covered a lot of historical museums in China, and he shares his photos on his own website.
"Chinese history and culture are incredible, and I never learned that when I was a kid," he said. He hopes that people worldwide will come to understand the real China through his photos and books.
