Corn expert brings higher yields to Jilin

Wang Lichun, an expert in corn cultivation at the Jilin Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has been rooted for decades with his team have been in the fields of Northeast China, constantly looking for ways to increase yields.
Their work has paid off, as harvests have reached new heights through a sustainable and efficient cultivation technology system for corn, which has been widely promoted.
From 2004 to 2008, the technology has been used on a total of 6.7 million hectares in Jilin province, resulting in an increase of more than 6 million metric tons of corn.
The team has set new records for corn yields in Northeast China, achieving a high of nearly 19,000 kilograms per hectare for spring corn under rain-fed conditions in China.
