Canteen canned after rat head found in student's bowl
The North China University of Science and Technology in Tangshan, Hebei province said it has terminated its contract with the canteen where a student reportedly found a rat's head in their dish.
Recently a student posted online that they had found an item that looked like part of a rat's head in their bowl.
The university said in a notice on Tuesday that the catering company had won the bid and began to provide services to the school in late July. Because of the company's violation of related regulations about food sanitation, the university decided to cancel the contract.
The company also released a notice on Wednesday that it has sent a group to investigate and asked all canteens and suppliers it manages to undergo comprehensive self-examination.
